once” Welcome to the 59 time award winning Black Dog.
We’ve heard time and again that we’re the best place in town to
bring friends, clients, family and visitors you really want to
impress
The Black Dog opened its doors 14 years ago in 1993 with a simple
concept of providing excellent service, fine tradition pub fare and
the best beers of the world. This business philosophy grew so
successfully that in 1996, the dining room and patio was added to
keep up with the demand of the growing clientele. With that, a
new menu boasted are array of continental and contemporary dishes
that pointed The Dog in a new culinary direction. The Black Dog was
no longer just a pub.
Forever changing to the needs of the clientele and creating a path
of its own, the Black Dog embarked on providing healthier menu
choices and received the Heart Smart Award of Excellence in 2002.
The Dog has since won that Award year after year to date.
Being a strong community supported and leader in charitable support,
the Black Dog has raised thousands of dollars for local community
and charitable organizations and has been recognized by the Mayor of
Toronto, MP’s, MPP’s, The Premier of Ontario and national media
groups for its involvement and participation in fundraising.

received just about every kind of award offered to
restaurants/bars/ and pubs, not to mention the Trillium
Garden Award for it’s outstanding floral gardens and just
this year “Best Patio” from the Toronto Sun’s Readers Choice
Awards. The Black Dog holds a total of 52 awards to date.
Over the last few years the Black dog has been aggressive
with its menu design and now designates 50% of the menu to
heart smart, vegetarian, & vegan dishes as well as celiac.
The Black Dog as always has been a leader of innovation in
the industry, and recently claimed itself as the “Greenest
Restaurant/Bar in the GTA”. We proudly present our mindful
environmentally sustainable accomplishments on the back of
our menu and on the “Greening of the Dog” page found on our
site. Come celebrate a whole new direction of a healthier
greener relaxed dining experience.
